Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) 4.0 Fundamentals

Over here in Global Partner Services, we get requests on a fairly frequent basis to provide training on the Microsoft Operations Framework.  Beyond knowing the technical nuts-and-bolts of doing a deployment, it is critical to ensure that a given IT project is aligned with business needs, effectively project-managed, has established governance and change control, and has a plan for operations, monitoring, and customer service once deployed into production.

MOF

MOF is Microsoft’s structured approach to helping its customers achieve operational excellence across the entire IT service lifecycle by providing an adaptable and inclusive framework to improve costs, productivity, and reliability. MOF is composed of three phases—Plan, Deliver, and Operate—with an underlying Management Layer. MOF integrates community-generated processes; governance, risk, and compliance activities; management reviews; and best practices from Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) to provide concise and meaningful guidance

Workshop Details

MOF v4 Foundations is an introductory course designed to teach the key elements of the Microsoft Operations Framework. It illustrates how MOF organizes and describes all of the activities and processes involved in creating, managing, and supporting an IT service into phases and Service Management Functions (SMF) that mirror the IT service lifecycle. It also explains how key management reviews enable decision making within IT. This workshop is designed to prepare the student to take the separately available MOF Foundations certification exam.

Lead Partner Consultant Biplab Paul was kind enough to record the MOF Fundamentals training, which we now share (click the module title to download the video).
