ProClarity 6.3 SP2 (build 2217) Documenation

The SP2 bits are available at https://download.microsoft.com. I will be posting the "Requirements.doc," "Installing ProClarity 6.3 SP2 on Microsoft Windows Server 2008.docx," and "ProClarity 6.3 SP2 readme.docx" files in the next few blog posts.

Here are three important items to note about this release. Please see the documents for more detailed information on each point.

· ProClarity 6.3 SP2 supports Windows Server 2008 and can be deployed on the same server with PerformancePoint Server 2007 SP2. However, some configuration is required and some restrictions apply (see documentation). ProClarity 6.3 SP2 and Microsoft Office Sharepoint Services 2007 are not currently supported when running together on the same Microsoft Windows 2008 Server.

· ProClarity 6.3 SP2 supports the SQL Server Analysis Server 8.0 and 9.0 OLE DB Providers, but it does not support the 10.0 OLE DB Provider that is released with SQL Server 2008. However, SQL Server 2008 functionality is supported with the SQL Server 9.0 OLE DB Provider, and the 9.0-version provider can be used to connect to 10.0 cubes.

· If users are installing ProClarity Desktop Professional 6.3. on Vista, they should bypass the installation wizard and use the setup.exe file instead. This will prevent users from encountering error messages that reference prerequisite programs which they have already installed.

I want to thank R&D and especially Theresa H. for all their hard work!
