Announcing Data Privacy Day 2009

On January 28, 2009, people around the world are celebrating Data Privacy Day by learning more about what we each can do to keep our personal information safer online. The day will feature awareness and education events across generations, cultures, and geographies.

Microsoft will host a free interactive community event

San Francisco, California will be the location of an evening event that will focus on online privacy concerns, guidance, and solutions. The free event will include:

  • A video documentary showing how three generations of people approach online privacy issues.

  • A panel of industry experts, consumer advocates, and policy makers discussing online privacy.

  • Light refreshments.
