Please notice: Service Pack 1 was build on April CU binaries and with 28th of June Remond also have published JuneCU. That’s the reason why SharePoint Product group gives the following suggestion: “It is strongly recommended to install the June 2011 Cumulative Update immediately after the installation of Service Pack 1. The June Cumulative Update includes several important security and bug fixes that are not included Service Pack 1.”

If you have Languages Packs (LP) installed on SP2010, please install Service Pack 1 of LP too.

Please follow the order in case of SharePoint Foundation 2010 + LP:

  1. Install SP1 for SP2010 Foundation
  2. Install SP1 for LP (for each language pack)
  3. run SharePoint Configuration Wizard or “psconfig –cmd upgrade –inplace b2b -wait”

Please follow the order in case of SharePoint Server 2010 + LP installed:

  1. Install SP1 for SP2010 Foundation
  2. Install SP1 for LP (for each language pack)
  3. Install SP1 for SP2010 Server
  4. Install SP1 for LP (for each language pack)
  5. run SharePoint Configuration Wizard or “psconfig –cmd upgrade –inplace b2b -wait”

After installing Service Pack 1 your Farm will run on build level: 14.0.6029.1000. If you want to see a list of all Build level check the list from my colleague Steve Chen.

regards

Patrick
