SharePoint 2007 February Cumulative Update (CU) released (uber Package) - Build 6341

Hello,

Monday the SharePoint Product Group released SharePoint Hotfix uber package. (Link)

What does it mean?

First the Product Group release these hotfix: as FebCU

KB Article	fix is localized? (if you have more then one language installed you need to install a localized fix in every languages which exists on your SharePoint server)

961749	No

Normally you need to install these packages like this order:

1.  WSS Hotfix

2. each WSS localized Hotfix

3. MOSS Hotfix

4. each MOSS localized Hotfix

But what happens if you forgot a localized hotfix? Maybe psconfig fails, or the page layout crash. So installing these Hotfix can be difficult.

With the uber package you don't need to install all these Hotfix, because the uber package include all of these Hotfix in every language.

That's nice, so installing two fixes bring your SharePoint Server in all languages to build level 6341:

If you have only WSS 3.0 installed, then it's much easier. Only installing "WSS 3.0 uber package" and run psconfig and everything is fine :-).

Tip:
With using the uber package it's much fast to create your own slipstream installation as well.  ;-)

But don't forget to run psconfig first after all your necessary binaries are deployed/installed.
