imageHere’s a new Knowledge Base article we published. This one explains how to fix an issue where Orchestrator Integration Pack for Netcool/OMNIbus activities return the error "java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid ObjectServer data type".

Error message “java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid ObjectServer data type” is returned in the System Center Orchestrator Runbook Designer after the selection of the desired IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus ObjectServer connection when using one of the activities in the Integration Pack for IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus.

The status table of the alerts database in the IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus NCOMS ObjectServer configuration includes one or more columns of data type "char".

The problem can be mitigated as follows:

Delete the column(s) that use the data type of "char" and recreate the column(s) using the data type "varchar".
