Hortonworks Releases Apache Hadoop-based Distribution for Windows

Today, Hortonworks announced the general availability of the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) 2.0 for Windows, the next release of the industry’s only 100% Apache Hadoop-based distribution for Windows.

Microsoft’s approach to big data ensures that customers have choice and flexibility when building and running Hadoop-based solutions. This includes providing customers with options to deploy Hadoop data in the cloud on Windows Azure or build on-premises applications on HDP for Windows.

Customers can also use Power BI for Office 365 to connect to either HDP 2.0 for Windows or Windows Azure HDInsight to transform complex data into meaningful insights that are easily visualized and shared.
