This week Microsoft announced plans to bring Xbox Music to iOS and Android devices, as well as free streaming on Xbox Music via the Web, making Xbox Music and its 30 million tracks available on millions more devices and for free to anyone with a Web browser.

Xbox Music launched almost a year ago to better connect artists with their fans, giving music lovers the independence to stream music for free, subscribe to unlimited music, or download favorite songs to own, all through one common platform. The addition of iOS and Android expands the family of supported devices, furthering integration across tablets, PCs, phones and TV.

“Xbox Music now, more than ever, powers music experiences between Windows 8, Xbox, Windows Phone, and now iOS, Android and the Web,” said Jerry Johnson, general manager of Xbox Music. “We’re also excited to connect artists with their fans on the most anticipated consumer product of the year when Xbox One launches Nov. 22.”

In the coming months, additional updates for iOS and Android platforms will become available, including an offline mode that lets you save music to your device for playback without an Internet or data connection.
