On Cloud9 with Node.js

At yesterday’s Node Summit, Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie presented a new way to deploy to Windows Azure: Cloud9 IDE.  Cloud9 IDE is a cross-platform, browser-based development environment for Node.js.  It is one of the most popular tools for Node developers today and it’s available to developers working on any operating system.  Scott demonstrated using Cloud9 IDE on a Mac to build and deploy a Node.js application to Windows Azure, further proof that Azure is an open and flexible cloud platform that enables developers to build applications using any language, tool or framework.   Scott’s demo also showcased the Windows Azure SDK for Node.js, which was released as open source last month and is available for download on Github. The release came after months of hard work between Microsoft and Joyent
