Exchange 2010 Wins Best Mail Server in InfoWorld’s Technology of the Year Award!

I’m excited to share with you that InfoWorld has published its 2011 Technology of the Year Awards and Microsoft Exchange 2010 was selected as the Best Mail Server! This is a wonderful acknowledgement of the value of capabilities of Exchange 2010.

You may remember that I recently blogged in celebration of Exchange 2010’s one-year-anniversary and in recognition of the success it has seen to date. This InfoWorld win helps reiterate what we already know in that Exchange market share has never been greater with an incredible 73% of large organizations using Exchange as their primary email system.

Described as a “major step up” from the previous version, Exchange 2010 is specifically recognized for “improved management, administration and reliability features plus an enhanced experience for users that includes automatic transcription of voicemails, delivery reports for messages and extensive self-service options.”

Selected by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers, the annual Technology of the Year awards identify the best and most innovative products on the IT landscape. Winners are drawn from all of the products tested during the past year, with the final selections made by InfoWorld’s Test Center staff.

Other wins include Silverlight for the best RIA developer tools and design integration, Visual Studio as the best non-Java IDE and SharePoint 2010 as the best collaboration platform.
