Plan for Office 2010 and Internet Explorer migration with MAP Toolkit 5.5

We have talked about using the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit to prepare for your migration to Office 2010, now this story gets even better.  Today the MAP team has released the next version of the Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit —version 5.5.  It is now available for free download.

This version makes some minor updates for the Office assessment, but it offers some great advancements in a few other scenarios.  We are happy to now have a dedicated assessment to plan your migration to the latest version of Internet Explorer.  This is a crucial aspect to planning your desktop deployment – MAP now offers assessments for a modern desktop including Office 2010, Windows 7, and IE migration.  The MAP 5.5 Internet Explorer migration assessment inventories your environment and reports on deployed web browsers, Microsoft ActiveX controls, and add-ons, and then generates a migration assessment report and proposal—information you need to more easily migrate to Office 2010, Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8 (or the latest version).

Check out the full list of new features included in MAP 5.5to help you streamline planning for your next migration project.  You can learn more about the MAP Office assessment from our original blog post on MAP.

Happy migration!
