KMS host setup: Be sure you’ve installed the correct Office 2010 KMS Host License Pack

When setting up a KMS host to activate Office 2010 clients, be sure to install the correct version of the Office 2010 KMS Host License Pack (KeyManagementServiceHost.exe), either RTM or Beta. Each license pack contains the license files required for the KMS host service to recognize the appropriate Office 2010 KMS host keys. The RTM pack sets up a KMS host to activate RTM Office 2010 clients, and the Beta pack sets up a KMS host to activate Beta Office 2010 clients.

Important: If you inadvertently install the wrong license pack and then try to activate your Office 2010 clients, the activations will fail.

Note: If you have to activate both Beta and RTM Office 2010 clients on the same network, you can do so by installing both Beta and RTM versions of the Office 2010 KMS Host License Pack on a single KMS host.
