Release of Microsoft Office 2010 Language Interface Pack for Dari (Afghanistan)

I am pleased to announce that we have released Microsoft Office 2010 Language Interface Pack for Dari for the first time ever.

Dari is spoken in Afghanistan.

You can download it from here.

This Office Language Interface Pack allows you to change your Office User Interface to the Dari language in the following Office 2010 applications: Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.

However it does not contain a speller.

    Hi Casey,

This was the first time Microsoft Office was ever translated into Dari and the 2010 version is not compatible with Office 2003 or 2007 versions so unfortunately you are correct you would need to upgrade your existing versions of Office 2003,2007 to Office 2010 (at a cost to you) and then install the (free) Office 2010 Dari Language Interface Pack on top of them.

Not the answer you were looking for I would imagine but I hope it clarifies it for you.

Hi Jessica – No unfortunately the Dari LIP cannot translate English text to Dari or vice versa. And there is no Dari option for Bing Translator

Sorry I could not be of more help!

I have a question – i have multiple systems (hundreds) working with 2003 and 2007 – can I purchase the Office Language Interface Pack for these programs, or do I have to upgrade all the systems to Office 2010, an then add the Office Language Interface Pack .

Can the Dari LIP translate from English?  For example, is there a way to type a sentence or a word in English and have the Dari equivalent for the word or sentence?
