The Microsoft Research WorldWide Telescope, WWT was introduced to the Italian astronomical research and science education community by Prof. Giuseppe Longo in 2011. Since the WWT workshop at AstroInfomatics2011, Prof. Longo led a series of WWT activities, including 30 some lectures in school on WWT, a nationwide WWT competition, and the Robotic Telescope Ruggero de Ritis Operated through WWT interface offered through Federica Web Learning. What a great use of WWT – it bridges the gaps between astronomical research and science education effectively in a fun way!
