Windows Server 2012 introduces the in-box IP address management (IPAM) feature – a central framework for monitoring and managing the IP address space and the associated infrastructure servers. Apart from the core offerings, IPAM also provides support for auto-discovery of infrastructure servers in Active Directory forest; supports migration of IP address space data from legacy tracking tools and enables integration with other address provisioning systems such as SCVMM.
