And some stuff from the Microsoft Management Summit 2006 (The Microsoft Management Summit 2006 (MMS) is hosted in San Diego this year and is the only conference that focuses entirely on management with over 3,000 attendees.)

MOM 2005 with Service Pack 1 now supports SQL 2005 http://blogs.technet.com/momteam/archive/2006/04/25/426294.aspx

At MMS2006 System Center codename “Service Desk” was announced (our ITIL/MOF based, SDM-based CMDB that is integrated into our management products and includes all product knowledge) http://blogs.technet.com/servicedesk/archive/2006/04/25/426302.aspx

We also announced that the next version of MOM and SMS will be renamed to align with System Center. MOM V3 will be named System Center Operations Manager 2007, while SMS V4 will become System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
