The Lync Server 2013 Multitenant Hosting Pack enables service providers to sell value-added, Lync-based solutions to small and midsized customers. The hosting pack topology, based on Lync Online, enables partners to offer a more cost-effective topology to manage a large number of tenants with fewer users, which makes the offering compelling to small-to-midsized customers.

Product version: Lync Server 2013 Multitenant Hosting Pack
The Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Multitenant Hosting Pack enables service providers to sell value-added Lync-based solutions to small and midsized customers. Partners can customize their offerings with value-added services beyond what is available in Lync Online by integrating third-party applications, as well as bundle offers with additional network services, hardware and ongoing support.
Due to the infrastructure requirements of a single-tenant Lync Server, it is not economical to host the service for customers with less than 300 users. In addition, the standard on-premises Lync Server cannot be securely configured in a multi-tenant architecture deployment. The hosting pack topology, based on Lync Online, enables partners to offer a more cost-effective topology to manage a large number of tenants with fewer users, which makes the offering compelling to SMB customers.

Hi Wajih,
How are customers/ companies segregated at back-end level in case they are collocated in the same Lync Server?
Does Microsoft plan on updating the hosting pack? There are quite a few bugs especially related to the VOIP part in Lync and also the setting up of companies. Hopefully they plan on fixing these and not pulling a “Upgrade to Lync 2015 to resolve these issues”
thank you
How to know if an installation was made with Lync Standard/Enterprise or with "Multitenant Hosting Pack"?
Please reply.
