Per soder's comment, Microsoft is aware of the issue (Lync 2010 client fails to launch after applying the March 2013 cumulative update)< and a hotfix is under development that will address the issue.

In the meanwhile, check out the workaround at support.microsoft.com/…/2832123.

Per Susan Bradley, uninstall the 2010 client is considered a "workaround" for the issue soder describes?   What world do you MSFT people live in ?

Hi WAL, We do appreciate your comments. It is certainly not an ideal workaround but we are working on a resolution. Thanks for your feedback.
