For the first time, Lync Server and Client updates are now available on Microsoft Update, as well as through Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).  The recently released April updates are available today.  In the future, Microsoft Update will be updated periodically with the latest updates for Lync.

Please Note

  • Updates that appear on the Download site will appear a few weeks later on Microsoft Update.
  • Updates for the Lync 2010 Attendee – User level installation will not appear on Microsoft Update.

    Hi Rez, great news!!

Is this for Lync Server updates as well as client updates?

Is there some reason why you do not support Windows 7?

At least "Lync Server 2010 Hotfix KB 2493736" says:

    Supported Operating Systems:

     Windows Server 2008 R2;Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2

At least I would like to run the admin tools on my workstation instead of the servers…

Could you also change the "LyncServerUpdateInstaller.exe" behavior so that if it fails to create the temporary files on the same location where the installer has been started it then use the %temp% folder.

I faced this when I was running the installer from the network share with read access. Then I don't need to copy the files into all servers and that way it simplify our management work.
