There are some pretty special characters around here, one of whom is Edwin Young. Edwin doesn’t like a lot of fanfare, so we won’t mention that he’s the lead developer and one of the chief designers of Microsoft Lync Server 2010 PowerShell. What we will mention is that Edwin has written about some other special characters. No, not characters like Cezar Ungureanasu (lead Lync Server PowerShell PM) or Sean Olson (Lync Server Principal Group PM). As interesting as those characters are, we’ll save that for another day. The characters Edwin has written about are characters in Windows PowerShell.
In his article %$#@ Special Characters!, Edwin shows us some of the characters that PowerShell gives special meaning to, and how, if you’re not careful, they just might trip you up while you’re running PowerShell commands.
