New Product Family – SDK Components appearing in WSUS

For those of you running a WSUS server...

A new product family called "SDK Components" will be added to your WSUS server in the next one or two days. This category will contain updates to components offered through various Microsoft software development kits (SDKs). Microsoft SDKs offer great support to programmers by providing ease-of-use, tool support and reliability to create rich applications for software packages, hardware platforms, operating systems and similar. This new product family allows updates to be offered to these SDK components, controls, and interfaces. SDK components are also offered to 3rd party software developers which may be included in non-Microsoft applications. SDK components may be present on the full range of platforms supported by WSUS. Different categories offered under “SDK Components” may have a different range of supported platforms. Security updates can be released through this category periodically.

Due to the variety of applications/components that can reside under this product family, subscribing to this product family is recommended. We will send out additional information if anything changes.
