If you’re looking for an opportunity to provide a solution with real digital transformation impact – one that meets customer needs to empower employees through analytics, enterprise mobility, and voice, with security a top priority throughout – consider Secure Productive Enterprise. Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, and Windows 10 Enterprise work with each other and with partner solutions from across the security ecosystem to deliver a holistic, agile security platform.

Microsoft sales teams have found that starting customer discussions by acknowledging the challenges customers are facing, and explaining how Secure Productive Enterprise enables their digital transformation backed by security, expands what customers will consider. Partners that understand how to deliver multiple capabilities for digital transformation that include enterprise security, management, collaboration, and business analytics, on their own or through business relationships with other partners, will be well positioned.

This month (April 2017), we’ll use our Office 365 Partner Community call to bring you a discussion about Secure Productive Enterprise and Office 365. Joining me will be my fellow community leads for Enterprise Mobility + Security Partners and Windows Partners. We’ll explain how Secure Productive Enterprise, delivered through enterprise cloud services, supports customers in empowering their employees, and we’ll discuss the partner opportunity.

Secure Productive Enterprise pillars: Trust, Collaboration, Intelligence, Mobility

Addressing customer priorities with Secure Productive Enterprise

Secure Productive Enterprise (SPE) gives customers a trusted, secure, and productive way to work, addressing the customer priorities of trust, collaboration, intelligence, and mobility. There are two tiers of the SPE offering. Our focus will be on SPE E5, which includes advanced security capabilities, management, collaboration, and business analytics.

1. Trust

Protect your organization, data, and people.

Securing productivity, collaboration, and enterprise data is critically important as organizations digitally transform. Microsoft incorporates solid engineering and operational best practices to help ensure that products and services are continuously made more reliable, secure, and compliant. SPE provides comprehensive security, bringing the best cloud-based security technology together. From Office 365, SPE includes Advanced Security Management to give greater visibility and control over the Office 365 environment. From Windows 10 Enterprise and Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS), SPE includes Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection for end point breach detection; Microsoft Cloud App Security for getting control of shadow IT and the SaaS apps employees use; and Azure Information Protection to ensure information stays secure.

2. Collaboration

Create a productive workplace to embrace diverse workstyles.

Collaboration is central to productivity and today’s teams are dynamic, extending beyond their own organization. To get work done, modern teams collaborate on multiple projects and need to easily self-organize, stay connected on the go, and tap into the wisdom of the organization. Microsoft innovations aim to create a productive workplace that embraces diverse workstyles. Microsoft Teams is an excellent example of this, bringing together the full breadth and depth of Office 365 and providing a true hub for teamwork. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Planner, Delve, and Power BI are built into Microsoft Teams so people have the information and tools they need in one place.

Microsoft Teams is built on Office 365 Groups, our cross-application membership service that makes it easy for people to move naturally from one collaboration tool to another, preserve their sense of context, and share with others. Microsoft Teams provides a modern experience for conversations supporting persistent and threaded chats to keep everyone engaged. Skype is deeply integrated, so teams can participate in voice and video conferences fluidly. Skype for Business lets users connect with anyone, anywhere, across devices. You can simplify your infrastructure with one platform for calling, conferencing, video, and sharing. Enterprise capabilities in Office 365 such as Cloud PBX, Meeting Broadcast, and PSTN services, provides a complete cloud communications experience.

3. Intelligence

Provide insights to drive faster, better business decisions.

Microsoft uses intelligent systems to empower organizations to help people understand more about the way they work, and with intelligent tools that help everyone get more out of Office. The Office 365 services processes millions of interactions every day, and the quality and quantity of that data can provide significant value to customers and partners. Businesses can gain deeper insights to drive faster, better business decisions. Users can more quickly discover and build upon the work of team members.

The Office Graph is the intelligent fabric to Office 365 data, representing a collection of content and activity. It organizes these signals and applies sophisticated machine learning to them, while maintaining strict privacy controls. As a result, MyAnalytics delivers insights to each user about how they work, helping them increase their effectiveness. As part of SPE E5, you can access your MyAnalytics personal dashboard by going to the Office 365 web experience, opening Delve from the app launcher, and selecting MyAnalytics on the left-hand side of the window. This data intelligence is available through the Microsoft Graph API.

4. Mobility

Enable your people to get things done anywhere.

The number of mobile workers using corporate and/or personal (BYOD) devices continues to grow. A critical part of enabling productivity for them is about making it a secure experience that include protecting user identity and corporate data. Across Windows 10 Enterprise, EMS, and Office 365, Microsoft delivers comprehensive security protection for mobile workers. SPE enables getting work done from anywhere. OneDrive for Business and SharePoint enable people to share, sync, and collaborate on content from their phone, and lets them stay connected using Skype for calls and meetings. With Office mobile apps, IT can separate corporate and personal data.

Beyond Office 365, with secure per-app VPN connectivity in Windows 10, users can connect to their corporate line of business apps and content from anywhere, on any Windows 10 laptop, tablet, or phone. With Microsoft Intune, businesses can enable their employees to stay productive from anywhere, managing their apps on both corporate and BYOD devices.

Files can be classified, labeled, and encrypted according to your configured policies with Azure Information Protection. The metadata defining its sensitivity stays with the files, keeping them safe even when they leave the organization. Microsoft Azure Active Directory Identity Protection protects against identity-based attacks with conditional access policies. IT can set conditional policies on whether to allow access from a mobile device to corporate resources, depending on preselected conditions of risk events such as unusual sign-ins. All of these capabilities are included in the Secure Productive Enterprise offering to protect mobile workers.
