Digital transformation demands a new way of partnering

Stephen Boyle, Vice President, Microsoft US Partner Group

Building partnerships has been part of the Microsoft culture since day one. At the 2016 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said it best: "What really drives us, what makes it all possible is your passion, your commitment, and your drive to make us better."

As was evident throughout the Vision Keynotes at WPC 2016, starting with Satya's comments and amplified by our senior leaders, we are in an unprecedented era of digital transformation. Companies want to use digital technology to change their business outcomes. They want to achieve more, by using technology to engage their customers more effectively, empower their employees to be more productive and successful, optimize their operations for increased efficiencies and profitability, and transform their products and services.

Today, the Microsoft US leadership team announced changes to our US partner sales organization that reinvent how we deliver value to Microsoft partners and customers so that they can start reaping the benefits that digital transformation brings.

Building on the announcement about partner enablement that I made earlier this year, the changes to our US partner sales organization include:

  • Enhancing partner management to simplify the experience, create more consistency, and improve how we plan for strategic growth
  • Improving engagement and alignment across our business units through a common approach for partner engagement and integration with our field organization
  • Building an industry center of excellence through the development and deployment of best practices, centered around our core targeted industry solutions

These changes are the next step in the partner transformation vision we laid out earlier in the year. It brings together a fully connected partner experience from engagement to sales that will accelerate our ability to build and expand innovative new services and solutions that enhance a customer's digital transformation journey.

Partners remain core to the success of Microsoft, and we continue our commitment to enabling you to build a profitable and successful business.

Thank you for being a Microsoft partner.
