Digital Partner of Record for Online Services Advisor Deploy Incentives – US partner training and office hours

Starting March 2, a new online capability will automate how you are attached as the Partner of Record for the subscriptions you are actively managing for customers for Office 365, Microsoft Intune, CRM Online, and Enterprise Mobility Suite. Digital Partner of Record (POR) will improve your experience and your customer’s experience, reduce your cost of doing business with us, and help ease issues and escalations you are facing now.

The new capability will allow us to recognize partners for the subscriptions they are deploying, and will impact partners with regard to the Online Services Advisor Deploy Incentive as well as for how sales goals requirements for silver and gold competencies are calculated.

What partners need to do

To help facilitate the move to the new online capability, you should start working with your current customers on March 2 to attach you as their Online Services Partner Advisor of Record for each subscription you actively manage. For new EA deals, switch to the Digital POR attach method by April 30. On May 1, the paper OSA Attach Form method will be turned off.

Partner incentives experts from the US Partner Team will be conducting training and office hours throughout the month of March to help you understand the transition to Digital POR.

When will this impact the UK ? I still believe that this process, whilst it may work better for some partners, ignores the challenges of large customers where their IT department that looks after Office 365 Admin, is remote from the divisions in different
countries where we (for example) are deploying Project Online. For us to become POR for Project Online and Project Pro sales this still requires an O365 Admin to do this. And that’s difficult to achieve. It would be far better to separate out the POR for deployment
elements so that multiple partners working on different specialist competency areas can be POR for that element. Of course the way Project Online separates some key PMO Admin functions into the O365 Admin level is flawed, but that is an architectural issue
with the product itself. Appreciate your thoughts on this.
