Countdown to the New Microsoft Partner Network – Daily Double #5

It’s the last day of the Daily Double, and it’s been really fun talking with you this week about the resources we have to help you feel confident about the new Microsoft Partner Network. The final stages of updating our systems for the transition are under way today and over the weekend, and on November 1, we’ll officially welcome new membership options and opportunities.

Tip #2 – Say Bye-Bye to Partner Points.

As I was working on our list of tips/topics for these blog posts with my colleagues, Sharon Collins and Todd Nelmes, the item on our list they were most excited about was bidding adieu to Partner Points. The new structure for the Microsoft Partner Network is more concrete in terms of the requirements you must meet for the silver and gold competencies. While I always did like that little thermometer-style graphic on the Partner Membership Center that showed you where you were in terms of points, I think the new Network is more elegant in design.

Tip #1 – It’s Always Nice to Say Thank You.

This tip is actually more for me than it is for you. I have worked with partners during my whole career at Microsoft (more than 11 years). It’s always interesting, and there’s always something new for me to learn. Through this blog,, and our Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn communities, and at Worldwide Partner Conference, I’ve had an opportunity to meet many of you and hear what you are doing and how we can better work together. I’m excited about the changes to the Network and look forward to continuing to hear from you and learn from you. Thank you, and we’ll see you on Monday!
