IT Pro User Group meeting – April 8th – Upgrading Domain Controllers from Windows Sever 2003

As Windows Server 2003 rapidly approaches end-of-life, we find many enterprises struggling with the upgrade process for their domain controllers currently on Windows Server 2003.

Many believe that this is a relatively simple process, others have sleepless nights trying to formulate the right process and identify potential risks. Either way, a fair amount of planning and consultation will need to be carried out in order to ensure a smooth and seamless upgrade.

How complex is the upgrade? How do we prepare our organization for this upgrade? Are there any application compatibility issues that we need to resolve? What do I need to do before and after the upgrade?

This session with Nelesh Naidoo, from Microsoft Premier Field Engineering, will explore the detail around the planning, implementation and post implementation tasks related to upgrading domain controllers. We will delve into the intricacies of determining application dependencies and what the default behaviour of Windows Server 2012 / R2 is, as well as how it will affect your current environment.

The community night will take place on the 8th of April at the Microsoft Campus in Bryanston, Conference Room 3, it will be a 15:30 for 16:00 start, to finish at 17:30.

The agenda will be as follows:
