Community Night - June 2012

This month we will look at the subject of Archiving. What is true archiving, why archive, how does archiving impact our lives as IT Professionals, and what are the regulations we should take into account within South African law when archiving.

Our June Community night will take place at the Microsoft Campus in Bryanston, 12th June, starting at 16:00, followed by complimentary Beer & Pizza at ‘The Office’.

This month we will have Kendal Watt from Mimecast on our panel to discuss Archiving, as well as the solutions available. Joined on the panel will be Fletcher Kelly, who has been involved in Archiving as an IT Professional within Europcar, and together we will be able to draw on their experiences for architecting and deploying an archiving solution.

Along with the technical discussions, it will be relevant to understand the impact on ones business, or the impact this can have to business owners we report to. Our discussion will revolve around the basics of archiving, how to understand them, how to address Business and discuss the implications of archiving, or not archiving.

For those that are unable to attend in person, we will also be hosting the session via Lync. In the attached meeting invite you will find all the instructions and requirements around joining online. For future events use the attached meeting invite as a reminder.

We look forward to your attendance and participation in the event, as well as the networking opportunities afterwards.

Cheers, Morgan...
