Cluster License issue

This is something I learned last week.

When You have a cluster that experiences a hardware failure, and you need to rebuild a node you need to make sure that the install points to the same folder on both nodes.

 

The default path for Antigen for exchange is

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Antigen for exchange\

On a server that was upgraded from 8.0 to 9.x the path will be

C:\Program Files\Sybari\Antigen for exchange\

 

If you have conflicting paths the installed path registry key will replicate the path from the active to the passive node causing Antigen to look in the wrong directory for its files.

This is currently only verified on Antigen installs. I will update this when I can test Forefront.
