Team Up! The Business case for bringing your Team to WPC

With only seven weeks left until the 2016 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, we want to make sure you’re getting the best experience possible. Are you attending the conference solo or with your team? If the answer is solo, we urge you to consider why bringing a team to WPC is not only smart and valuable, but a great leadership decision, too.

Of course, if you’re a small shop or a sole proprietor, then attending WPC on your own is the way to go. But, let’s say for the sake of this post that your company is bigger. Your plan might be to attend WPC yourself and share the learnings and opportunities with your team. But, there is more opportunity here. We want to share the benefits of attending WPC as a team.

Anyone who attends WPC can tell you that it’s a big deal. WPC is the one event where partners, leaders and influencers from across the Microsoft universe come together. Over 15,000 peers unite, to share and shape vision, to create business-decisive relationships and to inform their business strategy going forward.

You’ll see impressive speakers, including Satya himself, and have the opportunity to learn from some best practices, which have been recognized through awards. But WPC is also the kind of event where an unexpected encounter can translate into a game-changing relationship for your business. This networking experience is no like other – the people standing beside you are the very people shaping our industry.

Attending as a team, you greatly increase the likelihood of those strategic networking encounters. Think of it as a divide-and-conquer approach.  You would be giving your team the opportunity to build a culture of leadership within your company by empowering your team to GROW through attending WPC.

Sheryl Sandberg, one of America’s great contemporary business icons, sums it up neatly: “Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.”

Ms. Sanberg alludes to the kind of business culture you create. Or how, as a leader, you empower and inspire your team to realize their leadership potential so they can take the reins when you need them to. What better way to empower your team than to give them the opportunity to take part in conversations that are defining our industry?

So, we say to you: team up! Bring as many team-members as you can manage to WPC, so you can maximize your business opportunity. With WPC in Toronto this year, the cost of attending will never be more cost-effective for a Canadian partner. All of which makes attending this year a must!

If you have yet to register for WPC, please register your business team today, before it’s too late! This is not a growth experience you can afford to miss!

Looking forward to seeing you there!
