I know that you know that Jesper has been with Microsoft. But I want to share his view with you anyway on the whole McAfee, Symantec discussion:

I think it adds up to the point: We have been hit very hard because the security in Windows did not meet your expectations - and you have been right. Now, we are delivering a much more secure OS and now we hear complaints again... Protecting the Kernel and thus the inner ring with the highest privileges is obvious to me. But I am biased

I recently talked to the CTO of TrendMicro during an event. He is not always happy with our turnaround time but he always got the information and APIs he requested - sometimes he needed a customer to support him but he can live with the situation. Now, do they offer less protection? I leave this to you
