Right brain or Left brain, which one do you use?

Michael Kordahi, a developer evangelist in the team I'm in sends this picture around today of a spinning dancer. Its a test to see which side of your brain you predominantly think with. Right brain thinkers see her spin clockwise. Left brain thinkers see her spin anticlockwise.

uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
uses feeling
“big picture” oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can “get it” (i.e. meaning)
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
risk taking

In my instance I saw her spin anticlockwise but the moment I started thinking logically she switched directions, or should I say, my brain switched directions!! How spinny is that??

Check it out for yourself! Which one are you?

I always thought of myself as left-brain, but I initially saw her spinning clockwise. I can flip her, but much easier to see clockwise than anti-clockwise.

  4. Bjørn Jensen says:

How come she first rotated clockwise and when i looked away for a moment and returned she was spinning the other way around… we’re talking about not looking for approximately two seconds.

Could it possibly be connected to the fact that I don’t have one main hand?

Well, schools internet is rather slow, so the .gif was loading really slow, and it was quite obvious that she was turning clockwise, I think it kinda ruined the test for me :s
