Getting Ready for a NAP

People have been asking me lately about Network Access Protection (NAP). Good news is that Im preparing for it now and will be going around talking about it to user groups and at some events. Should be an awesome demo!

Gene Feroli (the champ) came over to Australia and did some great sessions at TechEd on what you need to do to get ready - he recently sent out a mail internally to let people know of some of the resources now available on it. Essentially the main tip is think seriously about IPSEC internally to your organisation. There will be several ways to do NAP but the best is with IPSEC involved as its host based. 802.1x is also in there but remember the limitations of port based controls...and then theres DHCP which is not really a strong method of quarantine control...

More to come!
