website and Windows Vista Issue

A number of people (including Mitch Denny) have emailed us and indicated that the website for CommNet which runs our event scheduling for TechEd is running extraordinarily slow - unusable in fact.

In every case so far its because of Windows Vista's TCP autotuning changes in the IP stack. It appears that some routers and load balancers are having problems with this new function and its causing excessive timeouts and problems.

Heres how you turn it off to test if thats the problem; run this at an elevated command prompt: "netsh in tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable"

Tell me if it works!

Works for me! I’ve been searching everywhere for something that would let me browse to all websites with Vista. Thanks, this did the trick!

Most appreciative of your solution.  It was the answer to my biggest Vista frustration; TCP autotuning just doesn’t work for all situations.
