This article describes how to deploy secure wired access with IEEE 802.1X authentication using authenticating switches, wired client computers running Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server™ 2003, or Windows 2000, and a wired authentication infrastructure consisting of Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 Active Directory® directory service domain controllers, certification authorities, and Internet Authentication Service servers.
