This day will focus on three key areas, none of which are deployment. Each of these ares will be acompanied with lots of demos, some scripted, some made up on the fly. The four key areas are.
1. Group Policy – Se! e how Group Policy has changed in Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008. Learn about the just anounced “Group Policy Preferences” which will be available in Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008, and how it can eliminate the need to configure user profiles and logon scripts.
2. Remote Users – Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 include RDP 6.1 and SSTP. Learn how to extend the Windows Vista desktop using HTTP, as well as how to implement the much sought after SSL VPN.
3. NAP and IPSec – Most people have no idea how to properly configure NAP in conjunction with IPSec to implement domain isolation based on things such as the status of updates on a system. See end to end how to implement this technology on Vista SP1 (and Vista, and XP SP3). Beware, there’s lots of Group Policy, PKI, and IPSec in this process.
