Microsoft Technology Center is right here in the Twin Cities

This past spring, Microsoft opened its 11th Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Minneapolis/St. Paul.  The facility serves as a collaborative environment that provides access to innovative technologies and world-class expertise.

Microsoft uses the MTC in the Twin Cities to enable its customers and partners to understand how to connect technology to business drivers in order to help them envision, design, and deploy solutions to meet their exact needs.

While every engagement with Microsoft’s customers is unique, the Twin Cities MTC offers the following:

  • Strategy Briefings – This is a one-day engagement that starts by examining customers’ current business objectives.  Once business needs are determined, the discussion moves to the MTC’s Envisioning Center, which is a collaborative environment designed to stimulate customer’s creativity and showcase Microsoft’s solutions in action through demos and business scenarios.
  • Architecture Design Sessions – This offering drills into a customer’s business objectives and aligns them with specific technology to help the customer not only meet goals, but also capitalize on them. During this session, Microsoft provides architectural guidance and risk analysis to chief technology officers, architects, and senior members of a customer’s development/IT team.
  • Proof of Concept Workshops–This engagement allows Microsoft architects to work closely with key members of its customer’s technical staff and partners to transfer knowledge and develop proofs for custom solutions.  Often times, the workshops also include detailed demos and training sessions.

The MTC has a tremendous collection of resources available to customers exploring Microsoft and partner technology solutions. A customer that is interested in taking advantage of these resources can work with their account manager to request an engagement designed to fit their specific business needs.  For more information on the MTC, please visit
