Calling On Our Partners to Showcase Their CSR Efforts

It’s that time of year again, time for us to turn the spotlight on our vast partner network.

Each summer, Microsoft honors its partners from around the world for doing creative and innovative work with our products. What some people may not know is that our Corporate Citizenship team hops on that bandwagon to celebrate inspiring stories of good corporate social responsibility (CSR) work from all our partners from consulting companies to hardware vendors or training companies. In the past, we have had a single Citizenship award but this year we are expanding the categories to three.

In 2010 Computacion Olidata was chosen as Citizenship Partner of the Year for their work in helping relief and rebuilding efforts in Chile

We are reaching out to our many readers in the hope you can help us spread the news and encourage partner submissions for these great categories. These new awards are applicable to a a diverse range of CSR programs. The categories are…

  • Opportunities for Youth
    • An example of this would be developing unique technology solutions for organizations focused on serving the needs of youth (within the 6-24 age range).
  • Humanitarian Response
    • Develop and deploy a unique technology solution built with Microsoft products that aid people and organizations in a time of need.
  • Innovative Nonprofit (NGO) Capacity Building
    • Have you helped nonprofits (NGOs) to scale their business through new tools and/or efficiencies using the very latest Microsoft technologies?

Winning an award—or placing as a finalist— provides the successful company with a great validation of their CSR efforts, not to mention the potential marketing and business opportunities. Partner companies interested in entering the awards can find out more information on the Worldwide Partner Conference site.

This year, the annual partner conference will be held in Toronto – July 8-12.

Awards Nomination Deadline: 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on April 15, 2012.
