This is a 3-day Workshop course for deep-dive SQL Troubleshooting about learning tools and techniques to monitor, diagnose, and repair performance issues in Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

Gain experience and confidence through interactive, break-fix labs designed to provide hands-on experience in diagnosing live performance issues, formulation of a solution for a given issue, and proof of repair after solution implementation.

Agenda

Day1:

Introduction and overview of classroom setup. Learn how to capture performance data using SQLDIAG, SQLNexus, Profiler, Perfmon, DMV’s. Review common performance counters, SQL Wait States, blocking and error logs while providing insight on what performance issues they indicate. Get your feet wet with the first ‘warm up’ labs

Day 2:

Day two begins with review of the previous day’s performance issues and their solutions. Today the heat is turned up and the class will be confronted with deeper problems. Students will apply day one knowledge to identify performance issues from the normal activity of a production server. Students learn to identify deadlocking, parameter sniffing, tempdb contention and provide/implement their solutions.

Day3:

Day 3 will involve a number of different performance problems including mis-configuration, blocking, and wait states. All previous performance issues are fair game! This is the last round of performance diagnostics. By the end of the day Students will have addressed performance and configuration issues, implemented solutions, and validated their results. Voraussetzung ist ein tiefes Wissen von Produkt-Features in einer realen Umgebung. Level 300 Events können unübliche Fallstudien behandeln, die spezielle Punkte des Produktes behandeln, die wichtig sind, um die Performance oder die Funktionalität zu verbessern.

Setzt Experten-Wissen voraus. Level 400 Premier Events sind eine Diskussion vom Experten zum Experten. Der Inhalt bringt den Teilnehmer dazu, die maximale Leistung aus einem Produkt herauszuholen, die weitestgehend mögliche Funktionalität zu nutzen und Anwendungen zu entwerfen, die weiterentwickelte Features nutzen.
