Office 365 announces service updates and new customers

Today Microsoft announced new enterprise customers for Office 365, strong small business adoption of the service, along with the first major service update and the trial availability of the service in new global markets. Big brands such as Groupe Marie-Claire and Campbell Soup Company are all betting on Office 365 for their communication and productivity needs. Productivity in the cloud is becoming easier with new updates introduced today for Microsoft SkyDrive as well.

Below you’ll find three key components of today’s news:

  • More than 30 new features and technical enhancements have been added to Office 365 to make communication and collaboration even stronger. A few of these key features include:
    • Support for Lync for  Lync for Mac 7.5
    • New SharePoint Business Connectivity Services
    • Support for Windows Phone 7.5
  • Microsoft today launched Office 365 trials in 22 new markets, bringing Office 365 to a total of 63 countries on six continents. The following new markets are:
    • Argentina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, Estonia, Iceland, Indonesia, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey and Ukraine
  • SkyDrive updates to make sharing and accessing Office docs easier:
    • Simple, app-centric sharing for Office
    • Powerful file management
    • Improved uploads with HTML5
