This month nearly eight years ago, Microsoft launched Office 2003. At that time—as noted on the Office team blog—smart phones were making headlines for their built-in cameras, we lived in a world without Facebook and Twitter had yet to make its mark.
Today, people expect to be productive on the go, with the ability to view, edit and share documents from their smart phone, get breaking news from Facebook and Twitter, and store and share important information in the cloud.
With Office 2010, Microsoft offers the latest tools to meet these new productivity ‘must-haves.’ Companies such as Daimler AG, Sprint and law firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft recently made the move to Office 2010 and Windows 7. Companies who recently upgraded are citing ease of integration with SharePoint, Lync and Exchange, secure anywhere access, and increased productivity as a few of the reasons for the move.
With the end of extended support for both Office 2003 and Windows XP set for April 2014, customers need to start planning migration to Office 2010 and Windows 7 now, to make sure the entire process is complete by 2014.
