A New Look on Daily Edventures

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. — Henry Adams

Three years ago, we began an incredible adventure with the mission to chronicle and share the stories of everyday heroes in education around the world – we called it Daily Edventures. Since then, we've featured nearly 1000 tales of determination, passion, dedication, and innovation. What was once planned as a one-year project has turned into three years, and we've barely scratched the surface. This is simply due to the never-ending inspiration that educators around the globe bring.

As we enter into the fourth year of Daily Edventures, we do so with renewed energy, and a fresh perspective. I'm thrilled to share a brand new look on Daily Edventures, but while the face of the project may have changed, the focus has not: it's a celebration of the incredible work of educators worldwide – work that too often goes unnoticed.

Educators like Darren Rachemann from Australia, who shares his experience with a flipped classroom. Or Kandi-Lee Crooks-Smith, principal at Allman Town Primary School in Jamaica, who says, "I am on a mission to encourage my students to be engaged in lifelong learning…this is learning that encompasses more than what occurs in the classroom, it is a philosophy that involves the development of knowledge, skills and values throughout all stages of my students' lives-from early childhood through to adulthood." Crooks-Smith is the embodiment of the educators we feature each day on Daily Edventures. She lives, eats, sleeps and breathes teaching, and her life is quite simply devoted to her students. It is an honor to shine a light on her work, and the work of so many others.

As Daily Edventures continues to evolve, I hope you will continue with us on our journey. I encourage you to check out the new design, bookmark the site, nominate a fellow educator to be featured, and give us your thoughts in the comments. And don't forget to check back often – the stories of our heroes are not only inspirational, they are varied, unique, challenging and fun.

A teacher truly affects eternity, and the stories we've captured these past three years have positively influenced the world in so many ways-from shaping a new generation of leaders, to helping their fellow educators adapt to the 21st century classroom. Here's to a great 2015 and beyond on Daily Edventures.
