What a great way to start the New Year! I am very excited to be in London this week as Microsoft has a major presence at two key education events. To kick off the week is the Education World Forum,
the largest global gathering of education ministers and the internationally recognized ministerial forum for debating future practice in education, will run from 9-11th January. This year’s theme reflects the opportunity that all attendees will have – Learning From the Best For A World of Change. It’s an excellent opportunity for policymakers and education leaders to discuss how education is evolving to meet the needs of communities everywhere.
Then, mid-week we are hosting, in partnership with the British Council, the Education Leaders Briefing, bringing education ministers, policy makers and experts together to explore the big issues around learning, education, students and technology in a two-hour ‘talk show’ format. Taking a closer look at how ICT can transform education, we will consider how students can extend their learning beyond the classroom and how educators are developing new pedagogies that prepare students for career and further study.
Following this, BETT, the world’s leading event for educational technology, will run from 11–14th January. BETT showcases the best in international educational technology products, resources and best practice, enabling thousands of practitioners to enhance their knowledge of learning through technology. Check out our Partners in Learning Facebook page and you will get a glimpse of what we have been working on and what amazing new tool is being released for educators worldwide at BETT!
And throughout the week, we will be hosting a number of events to support educators worldwide through our Partners in Learning initiative. Whether training new partners to deliver educator training to seeing innovative schooling in action, we are taking the opportunity of having so many education leaders in London to continue to listen, learn, share and discuss how we can all work together in education to ensure that every student receives a quality education. As in past years, I’m sure I will leave this week enlightened and inspired about what is possible in education.
We will be announcing news and posting blogs throughout the week so be sure to go to the EMEA Press Centre for all the latest news updates! You can also check out our BETT website to learn more about what we are doing at the show.
