Microsoft Works Across Asia Pacific to Prepare Students for the 21st Century Workplace

We all know that learning has fundamentally changed: We're digital, we're mobile and we have infinite ways to gather and share ideas. This change is radically shifting the ways students and educators communicate, collaborate, create and connect. It's a transformation enabled by technology, and it's opening up a new world of learning and perspective on a global scale.

In Indonesia, Microsoft partnered with the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) by handing out Office 365 Education—the cloud-based version of the world’s most trusted productivity and collaboration software suite—to 3.5 million members, and providing comprehensive training on cloud computing technology.

“Technology plays an important role in enabling new learning experiences, improving pedagogical practices and empowering educators, especially in this mobile- and cloud-first world,” said Michelle Simmons, General Manager, Southeast Asia New Markets, Microsoft Asia Pacific. “Integrating technology into education will help equip students with skills for the modern, global workforce and future workplace.”

The Microsoft education portal provides educators access to all the tools and resources they need.

At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every student on the planet to achieve more. This means recognising that educators are the true heroes driving this transformation, and helping them deliver innovative learning experiences to the classroom by providing them with great products, resources, training, professional development and community.

To ensure borderless and limitless teaching and learning, we launched the all new Microsoft online educator community website, a centralised resource and engagement tool for educators that makes it easy to access a global network of educators, free interactive training and best practices. All this with the flexibility to view on any device, at any pace.

Educators around the world are already realising the benefits of the new website and community. Nam Ngo Thanh from Vietnam said, "My favourite part is the course on Teaching with Technology, which helps educators learn how to use technology in classrooms effectively. This useful page taught me to adapt technology tools for my own professional development, and to bring revolutionary change to education."

Let's empower the next generation together. We invite you to join the educator community today to begin sharing and learning with over 1.5 million of your peers from more than 235 countries.
