Issue: The MED-V Server component may not start after installation completes on Windows 2008 x64 Platforms

fixHere’s a potential gotcha that can sneak up on you if you’re not expecting it.  If you install the MED-V server and discover that it won’t start and logs 0x8007000B errors then this may be your issue:

Issue: After server installation, the MED-V server will not start and the configuration wizard does not begin as it normally does post installation. You will see an error message in the event log with an error message description that reads:

Service cannot be started. System.BadImageFormatException: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
at Kidaro.Servers.ServersService.InitializeKidaroUEF(String componentName)
at Kidaro.Servers.ServersService.OnStart(String[] args)
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)

Cause: This can happen as a result of installing the 32-bit version of the product on a 64-bit platform.

Resolution:   OK, this is an easy one, but to resolve this simply remove the x86 version and install the 64-bit version.  Once you do that you should be good to go.

Hope this helps,
