Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V) version 1.0 is now available

image Today marks the inaugural post on the MED-V support team blog with our announcement that Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V) version 1.0 is now available through the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack release for 2009 (MDOP 2009.)

MDOP 2009 is available for MDOP subscribers at the Microsoft Volume Licensing Site (MVLS) here.

MED-V bridges the application compatibility gap between current versions of Windows and legacy Windows-based applications by allowing enterprises to move desktops completely to newer versions of Windows.  For end-users, MED-V provides seamless integration of applications running in virtual machines with the host operating system to provide for a unified desktop experience.  For enterprise administrators, MED-V provides deployment and management of virtual desktops to enable key enterprise scenarios.

The MED-V Product and Support teams at Microsoft will be posting general information, product announcements, updates, and troubleshooting information relating to MED-V here.

More general information about Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization can be found here.
