Cutting costs and boosting efficiency: a solvable conundrum

Bringing down costs while boosting efficiency and driving revenue is a dilemma that thousands of business owners spend hundreds of hours attempting to solve, but it is possible, as one global organisation has discovered.

A new deal announced between Microsoft and the multinational power and automation technology company ABB will see the organisation deploy Office 365 and Yammer to its 145,000 employees across the world.

The result will be that ABB can provide employees with new ways of working through enterprise social and the cloud, which will boost productivity and streamline business processes.

Furthermore, the time and cost savings associated with Office 365 will means that employees have the flexibility to collaborate and communicate more freely than ever, with geographical boundaries no longer being a barrier.

It is estimated that ABB will save as much as 20 per cent on travel costs alone through the simplification of online meetings, highlighting that cost efficiencies and productivity can indeed go hand-in-hand.
