The Microsoft SMS&P Christmas Charity Challenge

On the 15 December 2010 Microsoft UK’s SMSP team undertook a Christmas Charity Challenge. With the help of Microsoft customers and partners they raised over £60,000 for five UK charities – an amazing £500 per minute. People’s generosity was overwhelming!

The challenge followed a similar format to the BBC Apprentice and was an amazing experience. 250 Microsoft employees quickly formed into five teams to raise money for charities. The teams were provided with the resources to create five Christmas products; cards, decorations, mince pies, stockings and wreaths which were produced, marketed and sold within two hours.

The atmosphere at Microsoft’s campus was tremendous and the results far exceeded all expectations. With Microsoft’s customers and partners support our chosen charities are further enabled to improve the lives of their patrons. They were delighted;
