Office 2007 Compatibility Pack

If you haven't yet made the shift to Office 2007 (what's keeping you!! ), your users may be experiencing difficulties opening documents sent from users who have already made the shift. While its relatively easy to configure Office 2007 to save documents in compatible formats, many users seem to prefer the benefits that the new format offers. So in the meantime there's going to be the odd issue for your users.

That's where the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack comes in, by installing the Compatibility Pack in addition to Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003, you will be able open, edit, and save files using the file formats new to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007. The Compatibility Pack can also be used in conjunction with the Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003, Excel Viewer 2003, and PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to view files saved in these new formats. For more information about the Compatibility Pack, see Knowledge Base article 924074.

I'd recommend adding this to your organisations standard or gold build as soon as possible, I'd also consider getting it rolled out to existing workstations too. It will help your users, reduce support calls and create a bit of time for you to decide your upgrade strategy.
