System Center Operations Manager and Azure: Better Together with the Azure Monitoring Gateway Part 1 and 2

121013_1504_OperationsM3One of the great things I love about my job is the amount of really smart and talented folks I get to work with.  This is so true with my good friend Cameron Fuller.  Some of you may know Cameron and read is blog, he truly is a System Center expert.  Often times, when I folks like Cameron are on the cutting edge of our technologies. For this post I caught wind of a great series

Well Cameron is writing a series on a great new technology called the Azure Monitoring gateway.  In the first part of the series he wrote about some of the basic terminology that you need to understand for background context of monitoring.  Terms like,  Mutual authentication, monitoring outside of the forest, monitoring as a service provider, monitoring in a Hybrid world and Born-in-the-Cloud.  As well as an overview of the process.

You can check out Part 1 here: Operations Manager and Azure better together: Introducing the Azure Monitoring Gateway [#SYSCTR, #SCOM, #Azure]

In part 2, he took a great look at the architectural choices you make to successfully monitor Azure.  Some really good choices, the graphic in this post is for a born in the cloud scenario.
