Book of the Month September 2013: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Administration Instant Reference

imageOkay so I had to at least promote my 3rd book, especially since we have Windows Server 2012 R2 is just around corner arriving on October 18th.  For this book I was yet again joined by my fantastic co-author Chris Henley for this book.

The book is very similar to our first book on Windows Server 2008 R2 with some major updates.  While it was technically called a revision there are several chapters that had major changes and updates.  These include:

  • Server Core
  • Server Manager
  • PowerShell
  • Storage and SMB 3.0
  • Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
  • Active Directory (AD)  and Group Policy
  • Better with Windows 8 and 8.1
  • Application and Web Services
  • Failover Clustering
  • Hyper-V

So if you are looking to learn more about Windows Server 2012, I would recommend that you check out our book.  Even though R2 is right around corner many of the concepts will still be applicable.

As with all my book of the month posts.  Let me know if you read this book and comment and let me know what your thoughts are.  Also let me know what your reading.  Enjoy and have a great day!
